The View
It's not often that one can get an inside peek at the creative process around the making of a video. Sure they might be packed onto those Enhanced CDs that everyone seems to be annoying listeners with these days, but does anyone really watch them? Well The View shows us that we should really appreciate the old fun-filled, days of drinking in the morning, with debauchery in the afternoon. It's entertaining, even for a new fan.

Goo Goo Dolls
The Goo Goo Dolls return to the US for their North American tour beginning November 4th in support of their latest album, Let Love In. The group has just finished up the new single's music video for the album's title track. Still reeling from a triumphant sold-out tour of the U.K., The Goo Goo Dolls return home for another North American tour in support of their new album Let Love In. The tour will sweep across the US and Canada beginning November 4 in Seattle and wind down in Anaheim, California for a special New Year's Eve show.
The new video for album’s title track and current single, "Let Love In," premiered on MySpace.Com on Tuesday, October 17, 2006. The clip was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by P.R. Brown (Death Cab For Cutie, Billy Corgan, Audioslave).

Those wacky and quirky fellas in Primus led by superstar bassist and lead singer Les Claypool are back with two releases. The first is a retrospective CD called They Can't All Be Zingers and is followed by a DVD Blame It On The Fish with a nifty subtitle of "An Abstract Look at the 2003 Primus Tour De Fromage". The DVD features footage from their triumphant 2003 reunion tour. The digitally remastered 16-selection They Can't All Be Zingers spans the band's career from 1990 to 2003, featuring all of its original Modern Rock hits--"Jerry Was a Race Car Driver," "My Name Is Mud" and the Grammy-nominated "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver"--plus fan favorites and a previously unreleased, extended version of "Shake Hands With Beef." Blame It On The Fish is the third DVD release from Primus and follows "Hallucino-Genetics Live 2004". Years in the making, this DVD of the band's 2003 reunion tour—which was augmented by ambitious sets and innovative multi-media installations—contains live performance footage, interview segments, candid behind the scenes shots and intense visual imagery. In addition to 90 minutes of bonus material, the extras also include a 30-minute futuristic documentary about the band set in the year 2065 and interviews with the then-102-year-old bandleader Les Claypool.

In the middle of a big tour with fellow acts, Forgive Durden, Mikoto, The Outline, Envy on The Coast, Saosin ready their new single "Voices". Soon after this tour they will head off with AFI on a tour through September. The post-hardcore group have created quite a stir despite their mere three years of existence with their debut full-length set to land in late September. Jim Reid formerly of Jesus and Mary Chain
Jesus and the Mary Chain former singer Jim Reid has recently put out an album under the moniker Freeheat which was a gulping dose of desert indie rock dashed with elements of psych rock and post-punk. Recently he recorded some sessions on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 6 along with Phil King. His signature vocals and sparse instrumentation on his single "Dead End Kids shows a man finding his mark time and time again. "Stranded" was recorded live at the 12 Bar Club while Vegetable Man" was recorded live as a tribute to Syd Barrett with a full band at The Bar Academy Islington in mid-July. Be sure you also check out Freeheat's "The Story So Far" to compare and contrast his stark stripped down sound of his solo material with his new outfit.

The Thermals
Sub Pop Records burst into the limelight when Nirvana's major label debut produced a rabid fanbase who raided the highly influential grunge band's past discography. Flash forward to 2006 and their new group The Thermals. Filled with a wall of distorted college rock ala Guided By Voices and Pavement, their latest album "The Body, The Blood, The Machine" is a concept themed around the United States being run by a Christian fascist theocracy, which is scaringly close to reality. Check out "Test Pattern", for a good injection of Orwellian indie rock.
