Golden Ball — The Luxury of Pause Buy it at Amazon
What a cool name for an album, I thought to myself, they better freakin’ live up to that rad album title. Well they did with their artsy folk rock album that skirts avant garde’s borders to tightrope the line between art rock and indie pop. What’s that you like some glam with your rock? Well never fear they offer a bit of that as well with a Bowie-esque psychedelic arm that toughens to the touch but melts away with a cacophony of noisy harmonies. Just to imagine that there could be six people united to forge and craft songs such as these in one neighborhood in Philadelphia makes me wonder if the moniker of the town should swing from “The City of Brotherly Love” to “The City that Breeds Eclectic Love of Music”, or something more clever that I can’t put to paper right now.
